EDUCATION – Advocacy

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

                                                            Proverbs 31:8-9

Advocacy will serve to inform and further educate partners on women and global issues pertaining to the poor and oppressed.

It will organize and encourage our partnership and community to speak out on behalf of the vulnerable and impoverished, to government leaders and decision-makers. It will work through partnership meetings, cross cultural studies, and when appropriate, national leadership meetings and community awareness events.

It will work closely with World Vision and its Advocacy Action Center in creating opportunities to further empower the dedicated, compassionate and informed Partners.

As advocates for the poorest of the poor women and children, Women of Vision of Charlotte is committed to focus on two areas of the world - Africa (Ethiopia) and Central America (Guatemala) - in addition to the United States. Our goal is to inform and educate the partnership and friends about the grim realities for women and children in these areas.

We want to provide opportunities to encourage our educated partners to make their voices heard to government leaders and decision makers. World Vision’s Senior Advisor for Global Affairs, Serge Duss, will provide us with an educational film, “The Wall”, which will be an invaluable educational tool.

Together, we can make a difference in many women and children’s lives throughout the world. One of the first steps in education is to determine how and where we can be most effective.

Then, with faithful hearts and strong convictions, action will naturally follow in our pursuit of making each day a more hopeful one for those who are not able to speak up for themselves.
